INGREDIENTS
1 cup moong dal (split yellow
gram), soaked for 4–5 hours
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 green chi li, finely chopped
½ teaspoon cumin seeds
Salt to taste
Water as needed
1 teaspoon oil (for greasing the
appe pan)
Fresh coriander leaves
STEPS
Drain the soaked moong dal and grind to a smooth, thick batter with a little water. Add chopped onions, green chillies, cumin seeds, salt, and coriander. Mix well. Heat an appe pan and lightly Grease each mould with oil. Pour the batter into the moulds, filling them about ¾ full. Cover and cook on a medium flame for 3–4 minutes until the bottoms turn golden. Flip carefully and cook the other side for another 2–3 minutes. Serve warm with curd or chutney after taking it out of the pan.
